That time a kid in my chair asked if I was 'painting' his head

I was cutting a 6 year old's hair at the shop in Austin last Saturday and he dead serious asked if I was painting his head with the clippers. I had to stop and laugh for a solid minute before I could finish the fade. Any other barbers get wild questions from little kids mid cut?

...and that kid is probably gonna remember that forever, I swear. I was cutting a little girl's hair once and she asked if the spray bottle was filled with "magic water" to make her hair grow. I told her yes, obviously, because you gotta play along with that stuff you know? Her mom was cracking up behind me the whole time. Every time I see a kid in my chair I brace myself for whatever wild thing they're gonna say about the clippers or scissors, it's like they think we're wizards or something. Honestly makes the job way more fun than dealing with grown ups who complain about the price.

Wait wait wait, hold on. You actually told her it was magic water? I mean, that's amazing, but now I can't stop thinking about whether that kid is out there today spraying water on her head hoping to get Rapunzel hair or something. Idk, maybe it's just me but that feels like a serious responsibility you took on there. Like what if she's been drenching her hair in the bathroom at school trying to make it grow faster and her teacher's like "what are you doing" and she's like "the hair wizard said this helps." That's hilarious though, honestly kids are the best customers for that exact reason, they keep you on your toes.
