Switched from clippers over comb to just clippers for fades, and my chair time dropped by 15 minutes
For about five years I did every fade with a comb guiding the blade. It worked, but it was slow and my wrist would ache after a Saturday rush. Then this guy who has been cutting hair in Austin for 20 years showed me how he does skin fades with just the clipper and a flick of the wrist. Took me two weeks to get the motion down. Now I finish most fades in 15 minutes instead of 30. I still use the comb for the top and scissors over comb when the client wants texture. Any of you use the comb less for your skin work?
