Shoutout to the old timer who showed me the flick of the wrist fade technique last month

My fades went from looking like a 5 year old did them to actually blending smooth after he spent 20 minutes adjusting my hand angle, has anyone else had a random stranger at a shop change their whole approach?

Oh man, that is the absolute best feeling! I had a similar thing happen with a random dude at the hardware store who fixed my whole paintbrush grip in like five minutes. I was just trying to get some cheap rollers and ended up learning more from his little demo than any YouTube video ever taught me. Some people just have that magic touch and they don't even realize how helpful they are. It's like getting a secret cheat code for life that nobody tells you about.

Wait, is this actually a thing people do? I used to think random strangers giving advice was just annoying small talk, but now I'm rethinking that. Last week some guy at the grocery store showed me how to pick a ripe avocado, and I haven't had a bad one since. Kind of makes me wonder how much free knowledge I've been ignoring.
