I finally saw a barber use a different way to hold clippers for a skin fade
I was at the Midwest Barber Expo in Columbus last weekend and watched a guy named Marco do a demo. He held his clippers with his thumb on the side of the motor housing, not on top, for the initial guide line. It gave him way more control for that first crisp line. I tried it on a friend yesterday and the line was so much cleaner. Has anyone else seen or tried a grip like that for the first step of a fade?

Yeah, that side thumb grip feels weird at first but it locks your wrist in place.

Feels like my hand is in a wrestling match it didn't sign up for. Guess I'll just have to trust the process.

Wait, you saw Marco at the expo? That guy hasn't done a public demo in like three years. I heard he only does private workshops now.
