Client told me my fades were too high, finally fixed it
Guy sat down and flat out said 'you keep taking my blend too far up.' Switched to using a lower guard on the initial pass and now I'm getting way cleaner transitions. Anyone else had a customer call you out on something that actually made you better?

Yeah I had a guy basically tell me my blending looked like a five year old did it with a cheese grater. Stung a little but he was right, I was being lazy with my clipper over comb on the parietal ridge. Once I actually took the time to use a 1.5 guard as a bridge instead of just freehand fading everything, the whole back and sides started coming out way smoother. It's annoying when they're right but at least now I'm not getting those random bald spots behind the ear.

Dude @sean_walker45 that's exactly what happened to me a few months ago. Some older barber at the shop straight up told me my fade looked like a lawnmower hit it and handed me a 1.5 guard like it was a secret weapon. It hurt my pride for a day but honestly now my blends actually have a transition instead of looking like a cliff, so I guess sometimes the roasting is worth it.
