Client told me my fades were too high. Changed everything.
Had a regular for like 2 years. Never complained. Then one day he says "man, my barber used to take it way lower." I was doing what I thought was clean. He was right. Started dropping my blend lower on the sides. Took a few weeks to get comfortable. Now my work looks way more natural. Anyone else have a client call them out on something obvious they missed?

5 barbers I know all had the same wake-up call from one honest client.

Man, I don't know, I think it's on the client too. I had a guy tell me my fades were too low, so I started going higher and he hated it. Took me a month to get back to what I was doing right before. Maybe your regular just didn't know what he actually wanted.

Had a dude sit in my chair once and ask if I was cutting his hair or mowing his lawn lmao. Straight up told me my fade looked like a bowl cut with a runway up top. Burned so bad I went home and watched tutorials for like 3 hours that night. Client was totally right though, my blends were trash before.
