Bought a cheap clipper blade sharpener online and it ruined two of my good blades

Honestly, I saw a deal on one of those $40 sharpening kits from a random site and thought I'd save some cash. Tbh, the thing just chewed up the edges on my Wahl and Andis blades instead of sharpening them. Ngl, I'm out about $150 now because both blades are totally done and need replacing. Has anyone found a sharpening service they actually trust for this stuff?

Why do people think those cheap kits are a good idea? Honestly, I've sharpened my own blades for years with a basic stone and never had a problem. It just takes a bit of practice to get the angle right.

That $40 kit sounds exactly like the one I almost bought. What brand was it, and did it have those little guide combs or was it just the sharpening wheel? I'm trying to figure out what to avoid.
