Bought a $400 clipper set and it's actually worse than my $80 Wahl

I went and dropped $400 on a set of Gamma+ X-Ergo clippers because everyone in my shop raved about them... within two weeks the blade was pulling and skipping on thick hair. My old $80 Wahl Senior from 2018 still cuts cleaner and doesn't heat up as fast. Anyone else have a pricey tool that just didn't deliver?

Ugh, honestly that is so frustrating! I had a similar thing happen with a pair of shears I bought online for way too much money. They were supposed to be the best thing ever for detail work but they just kept snagging on wet hair. It's a special kind of pain when you think you're upgrading and the old reliable tool just works better. At least you know your Wahl is solid, that's worth its weight in gold.

And isn't that just how it goes with so many things these days? You buy something new that's supposed to be the big upgrade and it turns out the old faithful model was better all along. It's like that with kitchen gadgets too, I've got a hand mixer from twenty years ago that still works better than any of the fancy ones my daughter buys. Sometimes I think we get so caught up in the hype of something new that we forget to appreciate what already works fine. It's a hard lesson to learn, but your Wahl sounds like a keeper for sure.
