Zelle glitch cost me $150 and the bank shrugged
I sent $150 to my landlord on Friday using Zelle through my credit union app. It said pending for two days then just vanished from my account with no record. The bank said it went through on their end but my landlord never got it and they refused to reverse it. Now I'm out the money and late on rent while they say it's a third party issue with Zelle. Has anyone else had money disappear through their bank's integration like this?

Calling it a "third party issue" is a cop out, they chose to work with Zelle. Isn't your bank supposed to be the middleman that handles this stuff?

My cousin's small bakery lost $800 last year through a similar setup with a different payment app, and the bank basically shrugged. It's like how airlines will blame the weather for delays even when everyone else is flying fine, or how phone companies blame signal issues on your device. Companies pick these third parties to save money and dodge responsibility, plain and simple. They get to collect fees for being the middleman but then act like they have no control when something goes wrong. It feels like the whole system is set up so nobody has to answer for anything anymore.

Right? It's like the bank is saying "we picked this third party to handle things for you, but now that something went wrong, go talk to them (good luck, lol)". Guess the middleman is just for show now, kind of like those middle seats on an airplane.
