Why nobody talks about using a separate savings account just for bank fees
I got tired of surprise overdraft charges eating my lunch every few months, so I opened a dedicated high-yield savings account at a different bank and set up auto-transfers of $25 each week, and now I haven't had a single fee hit my main checking account in over a year - has anyone else tried this kind of buffer account trick or do you just rely on alerts?

Alerts never helped me either, they just stressed me out after the fact. I set up a buffer account with auto transfers like you and it totally saved me from those surprise fees.
