Wasted $45 on a "premium" instant transfer fee that took 3 days anyway

I paid the extra $45 for an instant transfer through my bank to avoid missing a car payment deadline, and it still took three business days to go through. Has anyone else had an “instant” payment option totally fail like this?

Totally agree with @ericgonzalez, it's like people forget banks are just businesses that need to earn our trust back. These little fees and charges add up to a bigger pattern of nickel and diming us every day.
