I finally saved $47 by switching my checking account to a credit union in March

I had been with the same big bank for like 8 years and just assumed all the fees were normal. Then my coworker at the shop in Greenville told me her credit union refunds ATM fees and has no monthly maintenance. I was skeptical but tried it. After 4 months I added up what I would have paid at the old place - $47 saved so far on nothing but fees and minimum balance charges. Has anyone else made a similar switch and found hidden savings?

Got a buddy who tried that same thing and her freezer door was open all night. She blamed her cat. Then she found out it was her.
