Found a weird trick with my bank's mobile deposit that saved me 20 minutes

I was stuck in line at the drive-through in Portland last week and realized I could stack two checks by taking a photo of them side by side under the app. It worked on the first try for both amounts. Has anyone else gotten away with a lazy shortcut like that?

My bank app would definitely flag that as fraud if I tried it, but good on you for finding a loophole. Bet the system only checks for one check at a time so it just processes both amounts separately. Might try this with smaller checks first to see if it works without getting my account locked.

Saw some article about how banks batch process checks overnight, so if you deposit them right before the cutoff time they might slip through separately. @abby308 you're smart to test with smaller amounts first, I'd be too scared to try anything over like 50 bucks in case it triggers a hold or something.
