Why does nobody talk about bakery cases at the county fair?
Went to the county fair in Goshen last weekend and spent 20 minutes staring at the baked goods display, and the gap between the blue ribbon pie and the ones that got nothing was tiny. Is a fair judge looking for taste or looks, because some of the prettiest crusts were dry as cardboard? Curious what you all think matters more when you bake for a crowd.
