Spent $80 on a fancy baking stone and it cracked on first use

I finally broke down and bought this big rectangular baking stone from a kitchen store near me. Thought it would make my pizza crust super crispy like the ones at the fancy places. Dropped $80 on it which hurt my wallet a bit but I was excited. Heated it up in the oven for an hour like the instructions said. The second I slid my pizza onto it I heard this loud crack and saw a huge split right down the middle. Now I got a ruined stone and a pizza that's half on a hot broken piece of ceramic. Anyone else have bad luck with baking stones or got a cheap alternative that actually works?

That loud crack reminds me of how everything expensive these days breaks faster than the cheap stuff we grew up with.

That crack sound is EXACTLY why I only buy secondhand tools now, they actually last.
