Rant: Hand whisk vs stand mixer for buttercream is no contest

I spent 20 minutes yesterday trying to cream butter and sugar with a hand whisk for a birthday cake. My wrist was KILLING me and the butter was still in chunks. I finally gave up and pulled out my stand mixer at 9pm, and it was done in 3 minutes flat. The frosting came out so much smoother and fluffier too. I honestly don't know why I keep trying the hand whisk method when I have a machine that does it better. Has anyone else stubbornly used the wrong tool and regretted it?

Honestly the stand mixer is the only way. Hand whisking buttercream is just punishing yourself for no reason.
