My banana bread turned into banana soup three times in a row
Honestly, I was trying to bake banana bread in my friend's apartment in Chicago and the loaf pan was way too small. I filled it up too high and the batter spilled over the sides, making a huge mess on the bottom of the oven. After the third attempt I finally used a bigger pan and it came out perfect. Has anyone else had a recipe go weird just because of the wrong pan size?

Burned my cookies to ash using a glass pan instead of metal once.

And here I was thinking I was the only one who made that mistake. But honestly the real trick nobody talks about is that glass pans hold heat way longer than metal ones. So even after you pull them out of the oven they keep cooking your cookies into bricks on the counter. You basically have to pull them out when they still look slightly underdone if you're using glass.

Actually read somewhere that glass pans can be tricky because they heat up slower but then stay hot forever lol. That totally explains why my brownies always came out like hockey pucks when I used the glass dish. taylorlewis is right about pulling them early though, I've started taking cookies out when they're still a little soft in the middle and they turn out way better. Now I just stick to metal for most baking unless a recipe specifically calls for glass. Live and learn I guess but man those burnt cookies were rough haha.
