Just realized the $1.50 jar of instant yeast from the WinCo bin in Boise works as well as the fancy stuff
I figured bulk bin yeast would be dead on arrival, but I proofed it in warm water with a pinch of sugar and it foamed up in 8 minutes, and my sandwich loaves have been rising the same as when I paid $9 for a name brand strip, so has anyone else ditched the packets for the scoop it yourself bins?
