Saturn looked totally different after I cleaned my telescope lens

I had been looking at Saturn for weeks and it always looked like a fuzzy blur with maybe a hint of rings. Then last Tuesday I finally wiped the dust off my 6-inch Dobsonian's front lens with a proper cleaning cloth. The difference was night and day, I could actually see the Cassini Division in the rings sharp as anything! Had anyone else been putting off cleaning their gear and then kicked themselves after seeing the improvement?

Yeah that "fuzzy blur" thing is exactly what I dealt with for months.

Buddy of mine had the same thing, said it was like looking through a dirty window.

My buddy Mark had that for six months straight. He said driving at night was the worst, all the streetlights looked like giant dandelions. Finally saw a specialist, turned out to be some weird inflammation behind his eye.
