I finally ditched my red flashlight for a cheap amber one, big difference
Used a standard red LED for years. Got a cheap amber headlamp on Amazon for like 18 bucks after reading about it here. Red always washed out faint nebula detail through my 10 inch dob. Amber keeps my night vision fine but I can actually see the finder chart without blinding myself. Last week I compared them side by side on Orion and the difference was obvious. Anyone else switch away from red after a long time?

Green filters on the eyepiece do way more for nebula contrast than any flashlight color.
