Hit 500 nights logged in my journal and it caught me off guard

I started keeping a little notebook for backyard sessions maybe 4 years ago... just jotting down what I saw, the weather, how the sky looked. Yesterday I counted the entries and it was 500 exactly. I didn't realize I'd been out there that many times. Most nights it's just me and a cheap pair of binoculars, nothing fancy. Some entries are just "cloudy again" or "saw three planes." But 500 feels like a lot for someone who never thought they'd stick with it. Has anyone else kept a log and been surprised by the number?

That number sneaks up on you because you're not doing it to hit some goal. 500 nights is basically a years worth of showing up even when the sky is boring. It's the same way with anything you do just because you want to, like walking the same path every morning or reading a few pages before bed. Those little routines add up to something real before you even notice.

Yeah Anna983's right, 500 nights just shows you kept showing up.

Wait, 500 nights is basically a whole year of doing something? That's insane when you put it like that lol. I've been tracking my own thing with sketching, and I'm only at 87 days. Can't even imagine hitting 500. Shows just how much time we actually have when we stop overthinking it.
