yeah i used to think burnout was just for people who forced themselves to do stuff they hated. like if you actually love something how can you get tired of it right? then i hit month three of nightly sky tracking and realized i was just going through the motions. snapping photos logging coordinates not even looking up anymore. it changed my mind hard because now i see you can burn out on anything even stuff you genuinely care about if you turn it into a chore.

Went through the exact same thing with fishing believe it or not. Used to think burnout only hit people who clocked into jobs they hated every morning. Then I found myself driving two hours to my favorite spot, casting lines, taking photos for my log, and just staring at my phone the whole time. Didn't even feel the water or notice the sun coming up. Took me a solid month of forcing myself to go before I realized I'd turned my hobby into a checklist. Really changed how I see the whole thing.
