Hit 100 nights logged in my backyard and noticed something worrying

I went out as usual last Wednesday and saw my logbook was exactly at 100 entries since April. What surprised me was that the last 30 observations all showed a faint orange glow creeping into my southern sky, even on clear nights. I looked up the source and it turns out a new warehouse complex two miles away put in security lights with no shielding. Has anyone else had their sky quality drop after a local building went up?

Man that really stinks, 30 entries is way more than just a fluke. @tylermurray is right about the city council idea, I've heard of people getting those lights switched out after enough noise. I lost my eastern horizon a few years ago when a storage place put up unshielded floods and had to bug the zoning board twice before they did anything.

Yeah I used to think those complaints were overblown but this pretty much convinced me otherwise.

Those 30 entries showing the orange glow is a pretty clear pattern, sorry about that. A buddy of mine lost his northern view completely when a solar farm went up near his place, same kind of creeping light issue. Maybe write the city council about shielding requirements for commercial lighting, some towns have ordinances for that already.
