Finally got my 8" dob collimated just using a cheshire eyepiece and some patience

I mean, congrats on getting it collimated, but it's funny how people always talk about the cheshire like it's the only way. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I've found that even a cheap laser collimator can get you close enough if you're patient. The key is checking it after you tighten everything down, because the laser will shift on you if you don't. I've spent way too many nights chasing that last 1% with a cheshire and wishing I'd just used a barlow and a star test instead.
