PSA: My neighbor with 20 hens told me to quit washing eggs and just leave the bloom on
She said the bloom keeps bacteria out and they last on the counter for weeks, so now I have 3 dozen sitting in a basket by my sink and I'm not dead yet, anyone else skip the rinse or am I the only gross one here?
Ha, congrats on surviving your little science experiment. My grandma never washed her eggs either and she lived to 94, so maybe your neighbor is onto something. I'd honestly be too paranoid about cracking one open and finding a chicken surprise at this point. Three dozen just chilling by the sink feels like a weird flex but I kinda respect it. Just don't blame me when your kitchen starts smelling like a barn.
