My rooster chased the mailman through a puddle last Tuesday, now he brings us packages

He got out during a storm drain pipe mishap and went full Jurassic Park on the UPS guy near my back fence in Boise, dude was holding a box over his head like a shield. The rooster slipped on wet grass and slid into the coop door, now he guards the mailbox every morning and I'm too scared to tell him he's not a dog. Has anyone else had a bird that thinks they're a security system?
