I thought my coop was fine until a neighbor pointed out the ventilation
My friend Mark came over last week and said my coop looked stuffy. He told me, 'You need a vent up high, not just the door open.' I added a 12-inch square vent near the roof the next day. Now the girls seem way more chill on hot afternoons. Anyone else find a simple change made a big difference?

Maybe check for drafts in winter, that vent could make them too cold.

My old coop just had a window. I argued with my dad that it was enough air. After a really hot week last summer, I finally put in a ridge vent. The difference in how the birds acted was impossible to ignore.

Got to agree with the ridge vent. Chickens handle cold way better than heat anyway. I mean, they have feathers, they'll be fine.
