I finally cracked why my hens stopped laying in July, it was a stupid simple fix

Back in July in Austin, my 6 hens went from 5 eggs a day to almost nothing for 3 weeks straight. I checked mites, lighting, feed, everything, then found out the new neighbor's dog was jumping the fence and just staring at the coop every morning. Put up a 4 foot temporary barrier and they started laying again within 4 days. Anyone else had a silent stressor like that kill production without any obvious signs?

4 foot temporary barrier" fixed it? That's wild, I would have bet money on mites or something internal. I've had chickens for years and never once thought about a dog just staring at them being the culprit, that sounds almost too simple to be real. Take this with a grain of salt but I'm honestly impressed you figured it out, silent stress is the worst kind to hunt down.
