Warning: I thought the $12 tube of concrete crack filler was a scam, then the rain hit
My back patio slab at the Denver house had a hairline crack along the edge and I kept putting off the $400 mudjacking quote, so I grabbed the cheap caulk style filler as a joke. Two storms later and it's still holding, has anyone used this stuff on a wider gap or am I just lucky so far?

Funny how the cheap fix is sometimes the one that actually works. We tend to assume price equals quality, but half the time the fancy option is just selling you the label. I've seen it with sealants, with tools, with just about everything. Hairline cracks usually stay put if water can't get in and freeze, so what you did makes sense. Wider gaps are a different animal though.
