Old timer at the lumber yard showed me a trick with a speed square
He just flipped it upside down and marked a perfect 30 degree cut for a roof rafter in about 5 seconds. I had been doing it with a protractor and pencil for years like a dummy. Has anyone else picked up a simple hack from someone who's been doing this stuff forever?

Yeah that trick completely changed how I see a speed square now.
