My porch stairs were 2 inches off and I never measured once
Last month I noticed my back porch stairs felt weird every time I walked down. So I grabbed a tape measure and check, the concrete pad was 2 inches higher on the left side than the right. I built those steps 3 years ago just eyeballing it from a level, and the stringers were cut to the same length every time. The whole thing settled over the winters and now the railings look crooked and water pools on the pad. Has anyone else had stairs they set without a laser level shift that much, or am I just lucky?
