I called bull on those plastic shed foundation blocks for 2 winters, then my buddy in Cheyenne showed me his shed floor
Every time I walked past those stackable plastic foundation blocks at the hardware store I figured they were a gimmick for people who were too lazy to dig. My whole life I poured concrete pads, mixed bags in a wheelbarrow, the whole deal. Then my buddy built a 10x12 shed on his place outside Cheyenne using nothing but those blocks, gravel, and a level, and I gave him grief about it for a solid 6 months. Two winters later we checked his floor with a 4 foot level and it had not moved a bit, doors still swung clean, no rot, no frost heave cracks. Took me about 20 minutes to admit I was wrong. Now I keep wondering if I wasted a whole weekend and about $300 in concrete on my last shed build for no real gain. For folks who have run these blocks 3+ seasons in a cold climate, did you pin them or lay them loose on the gravel, and did you use the same setup under the ramp?
