Dropped $180 on a cordless framing nailer for my fence, and it paid for itself in one weekend
I was dreading rebuilding 60 feet of privacy fence along my back lot line in Boise, because hand nailing cedar pickets takes forever and my arm gives out after about 20 boards. So I grabbed a cordless framing nailer on sale for $180, figuring if it saved me one whole day of work it was worth it. Wound up finishing the whole run in a single Saturday, maybe 6 hours including setting posts in concrete. My neighbor watched me for a bit and asked to borrow it for his own gate project the following weekend. Now I'm wondering if I just became the tool lender for the whole block, has anyone else had that happen after a big buy like this?
The "tool lender for the whole block" thing happens with anything that saves serious time. Borrow it once and suddenly you're running a neighborhood rental shop with no deposit. I loaned my pressure washer to one guy three years ago and it came back with a bent wand and a new attitude. Set some ground rules now or your nailer will be gone every Saturday until it dies.
