Unpopular opinion: 3,000 miles on the PCT felt easier than my first 50-mile week

Last summer I finished the PCT and everyone expects me to say it was brutal. Honestly, the mental grind of planning that first 50 mile week back in 2019 was way harder than the whole trail. I spent months obsessing over every water source and elevation profile, then just walked and figured it out as I went. That milestone of hitting 50 miles in one week mattered more to me than any summit, because it proved I could trust my own judgment. Has anyone else found the preparation stage tougher than the actual miles, or am I just weird?
