Trail runner scared off a bear near my tent at Glacier

Camped at Many Glacier last August and woke to heavy breathing right outside my tent at 2 AM. A trail runner zoomed past yelling 'it's just a black bear, stay still!' and the bear bolted the other way. Anyone else had wildlife chaos solved by a total stranger mid-run?
