Just mapped out all my trips from last year and hit exactly 500 miles

I was adding up the distances from my trail logs in Colorado and the Tetons, and the total came out to an even 500. It felt kind of wild because I never set that as a goal, it just happened from a bunch of weekend trips. Does anyone else get surprised by their own mileage totals when they look back?

Honestly, how do you even keep track of all that? I read this article about how our brains are bad at remembering how much we actually do, we just remember the big trips. Seeing the number like 500 miles makes it real. Tbh it's probably way more satisfying when you weren't even trying for it, just living your life.

My buddy did that with his ski days last season and realized he spent over 40 hours just on chairlifts. It adds up so fast when you're just doing what you love.

Yeah @oliviahenderson, I tracked my climbing gym time last year and it was wild! I had over 60 hours just on the auto-belay, which is basically my version of a chairlift. Seeing the total really made me appreciate all that quiet time to myself.
