Hit 500 miles on the PCT this season and now I doubt my whole approach

I got to mile 512 near Belden Town last Saturday and something just snapped. I planned every resupply down to the ounce, mailed boxes to 4 different post offices, and still ended up carrying 3 days of extra food because one store was closed. My buddy hiked the same stretch with zero plan, just bought stuff at gas stations and did fine. So now I'm wondering if all that prep actually helped or if it just made me slower and heavier. The milestone felt like a trap, like I was celebrating a number that doesn't mean what I thought it did. Has anyone else hit a big mile marker and suddenly questioned their whole system? Or am I just overthinking a week of bad luck?
