Vent: Lost a customer after a quick lube job in Portland
I did a simple oil change and tire rotation for a regular at my shop in Portland last Friday, but I forgot to reset their oil life monitor. They came back furious saying I didn't do the work, and now they're going to a dealer. How do you guys handle these computer resets without forgetting?

My buddy out in Salem put a sticky note on his computer screen for reminders like that.

That 'quick glance at the dash' thing from @matthew864 is actually the trick I use, but I take it a step further. I make a habit of checking the dash BEFORE I even pull the car into the bay, then I reset it right after I start the engine to verify the new oil life reading shows up. I also keep a little checklist on a whiteboard near my tool box with common forget-me-nots like that, so the visual cue is right there while I'm cleaning up. It's saved me more than a few times, especially on newer cars with those digital menus.
