Vent: a stripped caliper bolt on a 2008 Silverado cost me an extra 90 minutes in the driveway
I was pulling the front calipers on a buddy's truck in his driveway off 5th Street and the top slider bolt rounded off at 45 ft lbs, so I soaked it in penetrating oil for 20 minutes, hammered on a 6 point socket one size down, and got it to bite before the head gave out completely, but it still ate my whole lunch break, so what do you all do when a caliper bolt is already half stripped and you have no torch handy?
