Tried a swivel impact adapter instead of my old universal joint on a rusted exhaust manifold, no contest
Had a 2008 Silverado in the bay last Tuesday with a manifold bolt I could barely even see, let alone reach. Grabbed my old universal joint like always and it just flopped around, soaked up all the torque, and rounded the bolt head a little. Swapped to a swivel impact adapter and it broke the bolt loose in about 10 seconds flat. The u-joint got tossed in the scrap bin that same day after 6 years of me fighting with it. What's your go to for those nightmare angles, am I late to the party on this one?
Did the swivel adapter hold up when you really leaned on it or did it feel like it wanted to snap? Been meaning to grab one but keep hearing mixed stuff about the cheaper ones. Also what brand was it, since 10 seconds on a rusted manifold bolt is kinda wild lol
