That one Tuesday last July where everything actually went right

Honestly I still think about that day sometimes. Had a 2002 F-150 come in with a no-start that three other shops had already looked at. The owner was ready to scrap it. I spent maybe 45 minutes tracing the circuit and found a corroded ground wire hidden behind the starter. Replaced it for $12 in parts and the truck fired right up. The guy was so happy he tipped me $50 cash and sent two of his buddies to my shop that same week. Makes up for all those days where you chase a weird noise for three hours and it's just a loose heat shield. Has anyone else had one of those unicorn days where a simple fix makes you look like a wizard?

Are we really calling a $12 repair life changing?

$12 in parts and you look like a wizard" ... yeah until the next job where you replace three parts and it's still broken and the customer asks if you even know what you're doing. But hey, that one good day keeps us all going I guess.
