Old timer told me to use brake cleaner on O2 sensors

Guy at the shop swore by it. Said it cleans them good as new. Fried two sensors before I figured out it ruins the ceramic element. Cost me $180 to learn that lesson.

Man I felt that "cost me $180" line in my bones. Brake cleaner is way too aggressive for O2 sensors, it'll eat the ceramic right up. Next time just grab a can of CRC Mass Air Flow sensor cleaner, it's made specifically for delicate electronics like that. Or honestly just use rubbing alcohol and a soft brush, that's what I do on my personal car. Saves you the headache and the cash.
