Had a disconnect go bad on a Trailblazer and it threw me for a loop
I was chasing a no-start on an 05 Trailblazer in my driveway last Saturday, pulled the fuel pump relay and everything tested fine. Turned out the electrical connector under the driver side carpet had corroded through and gave zero voltage to the pump even with the relay clicking. Anyone else run into weird gremlins like that where the relay checks out but the wire feeding it is dead?

Hold on, I've gotta push back a little. A bad connector is a purely physical failure, not really a "gremlin" since corroded pins are one of the simplest things to spot with a multimeter and a visual check. Wouldn't it be more accurate to say the real gremlin was skipping the basic visual inspection before diving into the relay?

Saw a video from an old mechanic who said 90% of electrical gremlins are just bad grounds or dirty connections people overlook. He was all about checking the simplest stuff first before touching anything fancy like relays. Kinda proves your point that the real issue was skipping that step.
