Found a weird trick for stuck caliper slide pins on a 2015 F150
Was doing a brake job last week on a truck that came in. The lower slide pin on the rear caliper was totally frozen. Instead of fighting it with heat, I grabbed a can of penetrating oil from my box. Let it soak for about ten minutes, then tapped the caliper bracket with a small hammer. The pin popped right out. Found this tip in an old forum post from 2018. Anyone else have a go-to method for these that doesn't risk wrecking the bracket?

Sounds risky to me, that hammer tap could easily crack something.

Yeah, I've cracked more things than I've fixed, @sarahpatel.

Oh man, I never thought about it that way... but the real issue is that hammer taps only happen when you're already frustrated. Like, that's a rage swing, not a careful adjustment. I keep a literal piece of scrap wood on my bench just for smacking when I'm about to lose it on a real part. The second you pick up a tool with tension in your shoulders, that's when cracks happen.
