Dropped $260 on a smoke machine to hunt a vacuum leak that turned out to be a $4 hose
Bought one of those fancy smoke machines after chasing a rough idle on my 2011 Silverado for two weekends, and the leak was just a cracked pcv hose I could have found with carb cleaner for almost nothing. Now it sits on the shelf and I still reach for the spray can first, so I'm out $256 for a lesson I already knew. Anybody else got a tool that was supposed to save you and just made you feel dumb?
