Showerthought: 15 years in the trade and guys still trust the paint can label over a spray out card
Had a Mazda come in last Tuesday with a factory code that looked nothing like the actual fender once you laid it next to a spray out, and the rep tried to tell me my mixing room was off. Grabbed a scrap panel, shot three drop coats at different reducer speeds, and the match was obvious by coat two, which is why I keep a stack of old hoods behind the booth for exactly this. Anyone else run into a color that the code swears is right but the sun says otherwise, and how many spray outs do you burn before you just tint it yourself?
