Sounds like a weird trade, but was it actually a good deal?

I swapped my old lawnmower for a neighbor's pressure washer last summer. It saved me about $300 and both of us got exactly what we needed.

I actually read a news article that said trade deals like that work best when both items are worth about the same used.
