Hit 100 panel repairs last month without a single comeback, totally surprised me

I kept a running count in my notebook after I messed up a door skin back in February over in Tulsa. Figured I'd just track how many jobs I did before the next do-over. Last week I hit 100 straight repairs with nobody calling me back for a ding or a misaligned seam. Honestly it made me think about how much my prep work has improved since I started using a stud welder more often. Anybody else keep a personal tally like that or am I just weird about numbers?

Hate to be that guy but a stud welder is for pulling dents on outer panels, not for door skins. Door skins you usually glue or clamp. Might wanna double check your process there.

Actually a lot of people don't realize that on some newer cars the outer door panel and the door skin are the same piece of metal. The whole side of the door is one stamped part. So a stud welder works fine for pulling small dents on those because you're not dealing with a separate skin that's gonna pop off. The issue comes with older cars that have a seperate skin rolled over the frame edge. If you try welding studs on those it'll just pull the skin loose from the frame. Most guys only learn that the hard way after they ruin a good door.

Man that's like watching two guys argue over whether to use a hammer or a screwdriver when the nail's already bent. I mean piperr58 basically already explained it clear as day and then reesepatel comes in acting like he's the dent police. Feels like the kind of argument that happens when someone's ego is louder than their experience. Kinda reminds me of the time my buddy tried to argue that a heat gun and a plunger was the proper way to fix hail damage, swear some people just gotta be the loudest voice in the room. Maybe it's just me but half the time these debates boil down to someone not wanting to admit they haven't worked on a specific type of vehicle yet.
