Heard a customer say we just "bang out dents" for a living and I almost walked off the job

Guy drops off his 2022 Ford Explorer with rear quarter damage. Says to my coworker "it's just a dent, you guys just bang it out right?" I had to step away before I said something I'd regret. Like sure pal, let me just grab my magic hammer and make your $8k repair disappear in 5 minutes. Anyone else get customers who think we're just cavemen with hammers?

@oliver719 nailed it. People see the end result and think it just happens. They don't see the 3am sessions or the stuff that gets thrown in the trash. Same here with the thing I've been building. Everyone says it looks easy but they don't see the hours of frustration behind it. Makes you appreciate the people who actually put in the work.
