Whoa hold on, aluminum and steel actually CAN touch if you use a good anti-seize compound in between.

You ever have one of those moments where someone hands you a piece of advice and it just sticks with you forever? That old timer sounds like a real gem. I've been there too, where a simple tip like that saves you from a nasty surprise down the road. It's the little things, you know, the stuff nobody tells you until you've already messed up. Good on you for sharing that.

Oh man, that really hit me too. I still remember my uncle telling me to always check the expiration date on condiments before using them in a dish, and it saved me from ruining a big batch of chili once when I pulled out some old mustard that had gone funky. It's wild how those little nuggets of wisdom from people who've been around the block just stick with you forever. Like that time a neighbor told me to put a slice of bread in with my brown sugar to keep it soft, and it actually works like a charm every single time. You're totally right, it's the stuff nobody warns you about until you've already learned the hard way. Glad you shared that story, it's good to know we're all in this together.
